Fire Emblem is not new. It has been referred to both endearingly and mockingly as “those anime games” and “90% dating sim, 10% strategy combat.” It’s always been a solid series in Japan, but never had the same steam in the Western Hemisphere...until now. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is now BIGGER in the west, and the popularity isn’t showing any signs of stopping. We will review the franchise and its successes and downfalls prior to this release, and break down what makes Three Houses so above and beyond the quality we expected from a new installment.
