Hello, Nakama! We hope everyone’s holiday season is off to a great start. Today, we have updates to share as we prepare for next year’s convention scheduled on May 26-28, 2023, Memorial Day weekend.
First, we are excited to announce that our theme for next year's convention is 雲鶴 ・Resilience. The kanji 雲鶴, pronounced “unkaku,”means good fortune, longevity, and happiness.
As many are already aware, our convention took a big hit from COVID-19, starting with the unexpected cancellation of Naka-Kon 2020. Although things looked bleak at the time, we have remained resilient. No matter how long and harsh the winter, the encouragement and love from attendees like YOU give us the strength to weather the cold. We owe you all our gratitude and are humbled by your continued support. We are now in much better shape to keep this convention sustainable and growing. Our intent behind the theme is to continue to stay resilient and wish “unkaku” for Naka-Kon.
